Hello everyone! I've been hard at work on adding more features to the game since the last update. Below you'll find the full list of changes to Metropolis 1998!
Major Updates:
- Added parking lots for buildings
- Click on buildings, units, and vehicles to see info UI
- Added residential subdivisions for apartments/duplexes/etc.
- Place blueprints in isometric camera mode (complete overhaul, so top down camera uses same code)
- GUI Scaling
- Place commercial/service signage
Minor Updates:
- Highway traffic is based on time of day
- When duplicating floor, entire ring of exterior walls will highlight now
- Delete functionality/options have been consolidated to main icon bar
- Roof walls are automatically outputted for flat roof buildings
- Blueprint placement is much faster now
- Minor GPU improvements
- Fixed GC bug that looped through every item in game every frame after 60 seconds
- Added city population UI.
- Added building type text to blueprint selection UI
- Added option to disable the breeze animations
- Added a few more assets to the game
- Stairs can now be placed on any floor, but will still duplicate on the same tile on each floor
- Slowed down in-game passage of time
- Added hot key hint box (bottom left of screen, based on action state)
- Fixed wall sprites outputting wrong size in certain situations
Bug Fixes:
- Fixed vehicles getting stuck on edges of map (vehicle was delete, recycled, but acceleration was not reset from 0)
- Fixed bug where units walked (ran) to work on the road, not using their vehicle
- Warn and prevent blueprint placement if no blueprint is available
- Fixed fences not being able to be placed on driveways
- Fixed crash when placing object in rooms that touch the property boarder
- Fixed crash when modifying rooms that touch the property boarder
- Fixed bug where placing rooms on upper floors would delete objects outside below placement
- Fixed bug where wall and door sprites would duplicate when placing blueprint with roof room at the top of the building
- Doors and windows are now deleted if the wall they are on is removed when expanding a room
- Fixed bug where unit would not path to same tile on a different floor
- Fixed bug where outdoor floors could not be placed next to a road dead-end, intersection, or curve
- Fixed big tree object GUI being larger than game window (for small windows)
- Fixed bug where doors and windows could not be placed on walls when they were see-through
- Fixed roof-replacement highlight inaccuracy
- Removed stair sprite (preview) when not placing stairs
- Fixed undeletable road when straight-away road changes, then deleted
- Warn when duplicating floors without stairs
- Fixed pathfinding bug when destination floor number was not updated
- Fixed CTRL+ALT zone deletion not working
