Patch Update 2024/08/29 - AND August Recap
August 2024 Update - Annnnddd new patch! Hey everyone, here's the recap for August! As you all know, I pushed out a major update at the end of July. Following that, I spent 2 weeks fixing bugs and pushing out hot fixes, followed by a trip to the city. After that wrapped up, I started working on color picking. When you open up the object GUI, you'll see the usual list of items with preset colors, as well as a bunch of color swatches below that. In the next major build, you'll be able to customize the colors of pretty much every item in game. Im about 50% to 75% done with this feature. Im thinking this will be a stand alone update and I think it will end up not being backwards compatible with existing blueprints. Sadly. Unfortunately this feature completely changes how items are stored/processed by the game.
~ ~ Today I am going to release a new patch with a bunch of bug fixes: Fixed two Error Load Save fixes:
- The blueprint preview (when active) was being saved to the save file. This caused the save file loading to error out.
- Fixed crash when loading the game related to unit pathing
Other Fixes
- Fixed inability to delete room on lower floor(s) when outdoor struct room is placed or if room is separated from main building (i.e. "must support structure above error message")
- Prevent driveway connection to road nodes (dead ends, curves, intersections) when deleting/replacing roads
- Fixed indoor to indoor room door deletion that caused the walls to output incorrectly on some camera rotations
- Fixed gyms not being able to place bathrooms
- Added "secret" ability to replace all sidewalk textures at once (hold SHIFT)
- Fixed stairs rotation messing up when duplicating floor
- Mouse selection box is removed when auto save triggers (to prevent unwanted deletion/placement)
- Fixed two major pathing issues (likely related to FPS spikes)
Problem 1 (minor): I treat outdoor floors as preferred tiles to use (i.e. they "weigh" less). These can only be placed on the ground floor, but I was not checking if the unit was on the ground floor. You happened to add outdoor floors next to the roof room (but different floor obv). So that was messing up the pathing
Problem 2 (major): Roof rooms dont have walls. I check for wall tiles when pathing. See the problem?
